Sweet and Sticky Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings and drumettes
  • SPICE MIXTURE:
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper, or more of you want it spicier
  • Cooking spray or vegetable oil, for greasing

Directions

  1. Wash and dry the chicken pieces. Place them in a large resealable bag.

In a small bowl combine everything for the spice mixture. Stir to combine. Pour over chicken pieces, seal up the bag and massage the spices into the chicken. Place the bag inside of a large bowl, in case there are any leaks, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, up to 3.

  2. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly spray with cooking spray or coat with vegetable oil.

  3. Place the wings in an even layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 40 minutes, remove and flip, then bake for 20 more for a total cooking time of 1 hour. They should be golden brown but still juicy and tender.

  4. Remove and serve warm or room temperature. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or plain.
