Homemade Wrapping Paper

Ingredients

  • 1 roll craft paper
  • 2-3 rolls Washi tape, your favorite pattern
  • 3-4 rolls various neutral colored ribbons
  • 1 spool white twine
  • 1 spool rustic twine
  • 15 quail feathers
  • 1 bunch faux pine sprigs
  • 8 ounces bright metallic gold paint, such as “Americana Décor Metallics”
  • Q-tips
  • Scotch tape
  • Gifts for wrapping

Directions

  1. Start by making the feathers, as they need to sit overnight to dry. Shake up your paint to make sure it is evenly mixed. Carefully dip the just the top part of the feather into the gold paint. Place onto a sheet of paper or paper towel to dry. Let fully harden overnight.

  2. *All of these should be done AFTER the gift is wrapped.*

  3. For the polka dot look: Using a q-tip, dip into the gold paint and dot the package all over in your desired pattern. Let dry overnight.

Once dry wrap with twine or ribbon and attach a name tag.

  4. For the Washi tape look: using the tape make a pattern around the edges, crisscross or make a boarder. Next wrap with rustic twine and loop in a gold dipped feather.

  5. For the rustic twine look: wrap the package with thick rustic ribbon followed by white twine 4-5 times so it looks layered. Next tuck in 1 sprig of faux pine.

The possibilities are endless. Mix and match.
