Thai Basil "Blender" Lemonade
Ingredients
- 2 organic lemons
- 2 organic Meyer lemons
- 1 organic orange
- 6 cups filtered water, divided
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 5-6 sprigs sweet Thai basil
Directions
Begin by quartering the lemons and orange. Place into a blender followed by 3 cups of water, the sugar and basil. Starting the blender on low, mix all of the ingredients together until the fruit has broken down and resembles a chunky, pulpy paste.
Next, in a large bowl fitted with a fine mesh strainer pour the pulpy mixture through using a flat spatula to help push all of the liquid through.
Discard the pulp, you can use it to clean your garbage disposal.
Add the remaining 3 cups of water to the mixture. Stir and taste. Add more sugar if you like it sweeter. Chill and serve over ice.
