Ginger Turmeric Honey Bomb

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups orange blossom honey, preferably local to your area
  • 1 tbsp. freshly minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp. bee pollen (optional)
  • 1 tsp. turmeric
  • 1 tsp. coarse black pepper, freshly cracked
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper, or more if you like spice

Directions

  1. Loosen up the honey so it stirs easily. You can do this in the microwave or bring a pot of water to a low simmer and place the glass jar (it only works with glass) into the water until it loosens up.

I like to make this in the glass jar the honey comes in. Makes for easy cleanup and repurposes my jar!

  2. Add all of the ingredients into the honey jar and stir together. Taste for flavor and heat. Add more cayenne if you want it spicier, or ginger if it isn't strong enough for you.

The turmeric acts as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and helps boost brain function. The ginger is anti-inflammatory as well but also helps calm the belly. The pepper adds nice spice and heat as does the cayenne. The bee pollen is rich in vitamins, helps with allergies and boosts the immune system. The honey, if local, also helps with allergies, has loads of antioxidants and also boosts the immune system.

  3. Will keep refrigerated for a few weeks. Stir into tea, mix into a cocktail or just have a spoonful if you're feeling run down.
