Overnight Lactation Grains
Ingredients
- 6 large Medjool dates, pitted and roughly chopped
- 1 1/2 cups steel cut oats
- 1/2 cup whole grain millet
- 1/2 cup roughly chopped pecans, toasted
- 1/2 cup roughly chopped walnuts, toasted
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
- 1/2 tsp. fine sea salt
- 4 - 4 1/2 cups unsweetened almond/cashew/oat milk
- 1/4 - 1/3 cup maple syrup (1/3 cup if you like it sweeter)
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
In a large bowl combine the dates, oats, millet, pecans, walnuts, chia seeds, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and salt. Mix together.
In a large liquid measuring cup or bowl whisk together 4 cups of the nondairy milk, maple syrup and vanilla. Pour over the oat mixture and stir to evenly combine, breaking up the dates into small pieces.
Let sit for 10 minutes then stir again to make sure everything is evenly distributed.
Cover and place in the fridge overnight.
When ready to serve, stir together adding more nondairy milk if too thick. Top with blueberries, a scoop of yogurt, a drizzle of honey or maple or on its own.
Will keep in an airtight container, in the fridge, for 3-5 days.
